The Flower Shed is your local plant boutique, featuring a variety of houseplants, succulents, cacti, air plants, plant decor, and curated handmade goods from local artisans. Jennifer Wands has been gardening since she was ten years old. Being in the dirt is what makes her happy, and she hopes to bring joy to others by sharing her love of plants and flowers.
The Flower Shed bloomed out of Jen’s backyard she-shed in East Longmeadow in May 2020. The pandemic offered her an opportunity to reflect on her life and to pursue something that brought her genuine joy. She started out by selling fresh-cut flower jars from flowers she grew and harvested on her property. Then she branched out into offering custom flower container installation services to residential homeowners and local businesses, like restaurants, coffee shops, and salons. She also came up with the idea to use her prior skills in project development and training to offer succulent plant bar workshops at local wineries, breweries, and coffee shops, which was an instant hit!
The Flower Shed’s brick and mortar plant boutique is now located in Wilbraham. There, you’ll find a thoughtfully curated selection of plant arrangements and decor, local artisan goods, and an interactive succulent bar where you can get your hands dirty and create your own houseplant or succulent creation with the help of their on-hand Plant Bar Crew. No green thumb needed! Jen also continues to offer her off-site plant bar workshops and her flower container design and installation services for all four seasons. The Flower Shed also offers raffle prizes for local schools, and Jen is always looking for ways to give back to her community, especially through organizations that specialize in homelessness.
