Flora! The Shop is more than an art gallery and gift shop. It’s been described as an eclectic hodgepodge of stuff – a badge of honor Bridget wears with pride. Bridget Bresnahan is an artist, a visual merchandiser, and a proud dog mom. She grew up in Holyoke and was influenced by local art teachers to pursue an artistic career. She’s been painting for as long as she can remember, and she draws inspiration from the mundane. She finds boring old everyday scenes – lines on a highway, water running out of a faucet, houseplants, her toothbrush – interesting, challenging, and ironically inspiring. Her original paintings are sold at Flora! The Shop, along with works from other local artists.
Flora! The Shop was first opened in Shelburne Falls but moved to Holyoke when Bridget moved back to be near family. Her love for this city pours out in the products she sells. In addition to Shelburne-inspired and Holyoke-themed merchandise, you’ll find truly uncommon and exceptional gifts, food, beauty products, and home decor from artisans, artists, solopreneurs, and small businesses from all over the globe. The shop supports businesses that pay their employees a living wage and manufacture responsibly. When you shop at Flora! Bridget named the shop after her naughty but adorable black lab mix Flora, who often makes an appearance on the shop’s social media pages. Bridget is a strong supporter of the American Lab Rescue.
Flora! The Shop also hosts events like book signings, tarot card readings, and art classes.
